              • Cloud Computing Types

There are three types of clouds: public, private, and hybrid cloud
where each type requires a different level of management from the
client and provides a different level of security.

                   A. Public Clouds

This type allows unlimited access to online services through the
cloud service provider and allows multiple users to share the IT
infrastructure of the service provider who in turn can add more
users as needed. Among the advantages of this type are the
                       following:

                           ▪ The ability to provide services to many users wherever they are.
                           ▪ Users don't have to worry about maintaining the public cloud from any

accidental matters such as replacing failed devices, installing protection
updates, etc. All they need to take care of is paying the monthly fee –
which is small – based on the cloud services they use.
                           ▪ A flexible way to manage costs where payment is only for use just like
monthly services for water, electricity, and others.
                           ▪ Highly updatable as the scope of use can be controlled based on
                               business needs.
                           ▪ The public cloud represents a vast network of servers which allows
continuous data backups. In turn, this means that any hardware failure,
power outages, or the occurrence of any natural disasters or crises will
not lead to the loss of stored data.

On the other hand, there are some problems that you may
                       encounter using public clouds, including:

                           ▪ The user does not have much ability to see and control resources
because the public cloud infrastructure is owned by cloud service
                               providers.

                           ▪ Penetration and legal risks as the public cloud may not be the most
suitable solution for sensitive or mission-critical security applications
due to the nature of this type of cloud.
