implemented within the cloud through its components that
perform the following coordination functions:
▪ Schedule different resources between different service users.
▪ Provide and make these scheduled resources available.
▪ Monitor cloud environment.
▪ Measure the number of provided resources that have been used.
▪ Determine the invoices due from the user/consumer according to his
subscription or the services he has used.
(5) The security layer:
Protection in a cloud computing environment is a shared
responsibility between cloud service providers and users. For
example, when using a service such as the IaaS - which we will
talk about in detail shortly - it is the responsibility of its service
provider to ensure that this physical infrastructure is protected
while it is the responsibility of the user to ensure that what they
place on this infrastructure (e.g., operating systems,
applications, data, etc.) is protected.
(6) The Management Layer:
Due to the complexity of the cloud computing environment,
cloud service providers resort to using various tools to manage,
coordinate and operate various operations on the cloud and the
services available automatically. In addition, they use tools for
cloud monitoring, cloud protection, and other tools necessary to
manage work on the cloud.
• Cloud Computing Services
As mentioned earlier, cloud computing provides three main types
of cloud services: SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. It is noteworthy that there
is no one-size-fits-all approach to the cloud and its services, but it is
primarily about finding a solution that supports the requirements
of each user by understanding the nature of each type of service
provided which in turn is the aim of this part of the session.
