Despite these drawbacks, the public cloud may be used by:

                           ▪ Fast-growing companies that can benefit greatly from the public cloud
using their services and scaling operations quickly – whenever needed
                                – rather than having to build a private cloud which in turn not only has
huge capital expenditures but also can take a long time to be built.

                           ▪ Businesses that can also take advantage of the public cloud by using
backup and disaster recovery solutions supported by public clouds.

                    B. Private Clouds

As the name implies, the private cloud is used on a small and
private scale unlike the public cloud which is available for use by
everyone, and its services can be accessed from anywhere. In
private clouds, resources are not shared by multiple
organizations, but all hardware and software infrastructure are
allocated only to one organization requesting the service. In
turn, this helps to provide a higher level of security and control.
                       Private clouds are characterized by:

                           ▪ Resources are not shared with other organizations, enabling better
                                security when used.

                           ▪ Being part of a particular organization means that it can be controlled
and customized to meet its business needs.

                           ▪ Monthly cooling, power, and maintenance costs are usually known
because in private clouds, requesting organizations have all the cloud
                                infrastructure.

                           ▪ Providing proprietary and legal rights because when dealing with
structured data (e.g., financial, health or credit card data) there are
strict rules about where the data is stored, who can handle and process
it and how to protect it which is not available in public clouds.

Despite these important advantages, especially those related to
the protection of users - which was missed in public clouds -
there are some problems associated with the use of private
                       clouds, including:

                           ▪ Limited scalability as the extent to which private cloud can be scaled is
limited by the amount of infrastructure available for use by the
enterprise using these private services. So, after a certain extent,
scaling is not possible, which makes the infrastructure a limiting factor
because it is not possible to scale as desired as in the public cloud to
                                meet unexpected demands.
