1 -Introduction:
1.1 What is excel?

Excel is a spreadsheet processing application that is a part of the Microsoft Office
package, this program is used to create budgets, charts, and tables, as well as
arranging values in rows and columns that can be processes logically using both basic
and complex calculations and equations

1.2 – About different Office versions

Excel is part of "Office" package produced by Microsoft Company. It is a program
to process Spreadsheets. The first Office package version is Office 97 and the
versions that came after are Office 2000 - Office 2003 - Office 2007 - Office 2010 -
Office 2013 - Office 2016 - Office 2019 - Office 365.

To know your Office version, click on 'File' and then choose 'account' you will
find your Office version.

The Excel file has its own extension through which the computer can determine
the special program to open this file. In our content (Spreadsheets Processing) we
find that Excel files has the extension .xlsx for files that are created by the recent
Office versions starting from Office 2007. As for older versions such as Office 97 to
Office 2003 they have an extension .xls .The files with XLSX extension are
characterized by being three times younger in size than the files with XLS extension
due to the reliability on newer file technology.
