6.5.5 Update Cross references
Cross references are not updated automatically. To update these fields in the document,
select the entire document by clicking Ctrl+A, or part of it, and do one of the following:
• Press F9,
• Right-click on any of these fields and select Update Field from the pop-up menu.
6.6. Index - Mark Entry
This command highlights the currently selected text so that it appears in the document index
(for example to make a list of keywords in the document and the page numbers in which
they occur). You can use the keyboard shortcut (Alt + Shift + X) to do this.
6.6.1. Insert Index
• You can add an index to list the keywords and page numbers that appear on them
using the Insert Index command.
• The Update Index command updates the index table.
6.7. Table of Authori es
A table of authorities lists the references in a legal document, along with the numbers of the pages the
references appear on. To create a table of authorities, you mark citations and Microsoft Word inserts a
special TA (Table of Authorities Entry) field in your document.
