8.5.4 USB Connector
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) has replaced serial ports, parallel ports, PS/2
connectors, gaming ports, and power chargers for portable devices. A USB port can
be used to transfer data, work as an interface for peripheral devices, and also be used
as a power source for devices connected to it. There are several types of USB ports:
Type A or Type B or Mini USB and Micro USB
      1. USB Type A
A USB Type-A port is a connector with 4 pins. There are different versions of it: USB
1.1, USB 2.0, and USB 3.0. USB 3.0 is the most common and supports a data rate of
up to 400 megabits per second
      2. USB Type C
USB Type-C is the latest USB and is a reversible connector. USB Type-C is expected to
replace both Type-A and Type-B. A USB Type-C port consists of 24 pins. USB Type-C
supports the latest version USB-4.0. In the latest USB4 specifications, USB Type-C
devices can support speeds up to 40 Gbps
