Google Maps App

Google Maps is a web mapping platform and consumer application provided by

Google. This app provides satellite and aerial photographic road

images, street maps, and interactive 360-degree panoramas of

streets (Street View). The application also displays traffic in real

time, which helps the user to plan and choose the appropriate

route, whether by car, bike, using public transport and even on

foot.

Application features

At the bottom of the home screen there are five tabs:

• Explore : Choose where to go.

• Go : What to expect along your frequent trips.

• Save : Create lists and recall places.

• Contribution : Share experiences, add information,

individual reviews, and fix issues. Figure 32: Google

Other features such as location sharing, timeline, and offline

maps are available in the top right, profile picture, or initial .

Find a place

Open the app, tap the search box, and choose one of the

following options:

• Enter the address or name of the place.

• Choose a category such as gas stations, restaurants, or groceries.

• Use voice search.

Filter search results
If you're searching by choosing a category (such as business, restaurant, or place type),
filter the search results.

• At the top of the search results, tap More filters.
• Select what you want to filter and then tap Execute.
After finding a place on the map you can get:
• Information about a place or
• Navigation directions written as a list or
