AI can improve communication by summarizing messages, writing a plain-language version,
turning instructions into a list, and proposing an empathetic reply. But the tone must be
reviewed; a message may sound mechanical or condescending, and it may imply a
commitment that does not exist. Messages about results, complaints, penalties, or
accommodations require human approval.
In study management, a tool can help a learner turn a course schedule into a weekly plan,
estimate approximate time, and insert retrieval and review sessions. The plan should not
assume that every day is ideal or that the learner has equal time and quiet. It is better to
build a main plan, a minimum plan, and a recovery path for when things slip.
A support service should be measured by more than the number of messages. We ask: did
the learner reach the correct information? Did the time to resolution fall? Did correct
referrals to people rise? Are there groups receiving weaker answers? Did the learner repeat
the question because the reply was unclear? These indicators reveal the quality of the
service rather than the activity of the system.
