TikTok application:
TikTok, known in China as Douyin (in Chinese), is a video-
sharing social networking service owned by the Chinese
company ByteDance. The social media platform is used
to create a variety of short video clips such as dance,
comedy, and education, ranging in length from 3 seconds
to ten minutes. TikTok was later launched in 2017 for iOS
and Android in most markets in mainland China. However, it only became available
worldwide after its merger with another Chinese social media service, Musical.ly, on
August 2, 2018.
Zhang Yiming is a Chinese entrepreneur, born in April
1983. He founded ByteDance in 2012, where its value in
2019 amounted to approximately one billion US dollars,
and the number of its users at that time reached more

developed the news app Toutiao and the video sharing
platform TikTok. Zhang Yimin specialized in microelectronics and later moved to
software engineering at Nankai Research University.
Both Tik Tok and Douyin have almost the same user interface but the content of
both is not accessible. Both of their servers are located in the market where the
application in question is available, the two products are similar but the features are
not identical. Douyin includes a video search feature that can search by people's
faces for more of their videos and other features like purchasing, booking hotels,
and making geotagged reviews. In October 2020, TikTok surpassed more than two
billion mobile
downloads worldwide.
