2- Snaps can be directed specifically to specific contacts or to a semi-public “story” or
a general “story” or what is also called a “our story.” The ability to send video clips
has also been added as an additional feature, and by long pressing the photo button
within the application, a video clip of up to ten seconds can be captured. Spiegel
explained that this process allowed video data to be compressed and concentrated
into image size. A subsequent update allowed the ability to record for up to 60
seconds being divided into 10-second intervals. After one viewing the video
disappears by default. On May 1, 2014, the ability to communicate via video chat
was added. Direct messaging features have also been added in the update allowing
users to send ephemeral text messages to friends and family while saving any
required information by tapping on them.

3- View private message Snaps for a period of time specified by the sender, ranging
from 1 to 10 seconds before they become inaccessible. Previously, users were
required to constantly press on the screen in order to view Snaps. This feature was
removed in July 2015. The aim of this feature was to prevent the ability to Taking
screenshots of Snapchat The Snapchat application does not prevent taking
screenshots, but it can notify the sender if it detects that they have been saved.
However, these notifications can be bypassed either through unauthorized
modifications to the application or by obtaining the photo through external means
(another phone's camera, for example). One Snap per day can be replayed for free,
and Snapchat has provided the option to purchase additional rewatches through
operations. In-app purchase but this option was removed in April 2016.

4- Add friends via usernames and phone contact lists using “Snap Codes” or through
the “Add Nearby” feature, which searches for users close to your location who are
also in the “Add Nearby” list. Snapchat is considered a fun and spontaneous
application, as Spiegel explained that the goal is of Snapchat is countering the trend
of users forcing you to project a perfect online identity which he says has robbed
people of the joy of communicating.

5- In July 2016, Snapchat introduced a new optional feature known as “Memories.”
Memories allow Snaps and Story posts to be saved in a private storage area where
they can be displayed alongside other photos stored on the device, in addition to
being able to be edited and published in the form of Snaps, Story posts or messages.
