• How to choose the right service provider?
The decision to rely on a cloud computing provider for certain
services needs to be carefully studied after identifying the needs.
Choosing a service provider requires reviewing what the employer
is willing to achieve and making sure of the following factors when
evaluating the available providers:
A. Cost
It may not be the main factor alone, but the first question facing
the decision maker will always be what is the cost? The cost
must be compared between one service provider and another,
as there are those who compete to provide a service at a low
cost but have disadvantages in providing support, or not
covering one of the complementary services.
B. Capabilities and Maximum Limits of Services
Besides cost competition, you may find a service provider that
offers a solution that has multiple technical capabilities but lacks
maximum processing speed, or has capacity limits that cannot
be exceeded, or you may be surprised that the provider has a
fair usage policy that may not be commensurate with the user's
workload.
C. Self-service Interface
The user-acquired service management interface is the means
of requesting and managing cloud resources. This interface
supports many functions, and the ease of the interface varies
from one service provider to another. The resource
management interface has an important role in providing
flexibility and capabilities to monitor resources’ utilization and
to follow up on costs continuously in addition to schedule
repetitive tasks.
