Key features of virtual conferencing platforms
• Provides supportive applications for smartphones as well as
computer software.
• Allow screen sharing: so that participants can follow the
presentation explained by the speaker.
• Provide different ways to chat: participants can add some
ideas and comments without interrupting the speaker as well
as share relevant files and photos.
• Raise the hand: to organize interventions, whether questions or to express some
opinions and suggestions.
• Cloud recording: Recorded meetings are more useful than unrecorded meetings
so that those who didn't attend the meeting on time can follow it or to stimulate
attendees' memory and increase utilization.
• Provides creative ways to interact: such as sending a symbol of like, applause, or
lack of understanding and confusion.
• Ability to change virtual backgrounds: Having some virtual or blurred
background options gives more privacy.
The most important applications of virtual conferences
Zoom App
Although Zoom is newly established, it has become one of the best applications for
holding lectures and workshops remotely. This is because it offers a
variety of options commensurate with the different sizes and
budgets of institutions and is characterized by the ability to record
all meetings on a private cloud and its ability to be well compatible
with the speed of the Internet and modify the video quality
automatically. It provides the ability to add 100 people in one
meeting with the ability to share the screen with them and involve
them in the explanation or notes, and the number of those gathered can be increased
according to the paid plan. Keep in mind that the free version does not have all the
features and does not allow the meeting to last for more than 40 minutes if the number
of participants exceeds two.
Google Meet App
Anyone with a Google account can create a free online meeting with up to 100
participants and for up to 60 minutes per meeting. With paid subscription plans,
