10.1 – Sort data:
Data sorting is an integral part of data analysis. Sometimes we may want to
organize a list of names in alphabetical order, compile a list of product inventory
levels from top to bottom, or arrange rows by colors or symbols. Sorting data helps
you quickly represent it graphically, understand it better, organize and search for the
data you want, and finally make more effective decisions. You can sort data by text
from A to Z or vice versa, by numbers from smallest to largest, largest to smallest, or
by dates and times from oldest. To the latest or vice versa in one or more columns.
To sort data, select a cell in the column that you want to sort, and then on the
Data tab, in the Sort and Filter group, do the following:
To sort in ascending order, tap Sort smallest to largest
To sort in descending order, tap Sort largest to smallest
To sort alphabetically, click Sort A to Z
Vice versa click Sort Z to A
