Professor Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, attended the ceremony honoring the winners of the State Prizes from 2019 to 2024. The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Osama Talaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, who welcomed Dr. Mostafa Refaat before the ceremony to discuss avenues of cooperation.
It is noteworthy that the State Prizes are awarded by the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Supreme Council of Culture. Each of the Nile Prizes for Egyptian Innovators, as well as the Nile Prize for Arab Innovators, is valued at EGP 500,000 (five hundred thousand Egyptian pounds) and includes a gold medal and cannot be divided, nor can it be awarded to the same person more than once in the same category.
The number of honorees reached 116, celebrating Egypt's innovators in various literary, artistic, and social sciences fields for their uniqueness in these areas. The Nile Prizes for Egyptian Innovators are designated in three categories (a prize for the arts, a prize for literature, and a prize for social sciences), while there is only one Nile Prize for Arab Innovators in any of the fields of arts, literature, or social sciences.
