About the Center:

The National Center for E-Learning was established in 2005 as a major project funded by the ICTP (Information and Communication Technology in Higher Education) initiative. It was incorporated as a fundamental unit within the Electronic and Knowledge Services Center of the Supreme Council of Universities in 2009.

The center oversees 27 electronic course production centers across public universities and their branches. It provides technical support, design consulting, development, training, and marketing services for electronic courses.

Vision:

To advance higher education in Egypt by integrating e-learning as a core component of education in Egyptian universities, enabling them to compete regionally and globally.

Mission:

To enhance learning outcomes in higher education institutions in Egypt by effectively employing information and communication technology applications to support teaching and learning strategies.

Objectives:

  • Promote E-Learning: Spread the culture of e-learning across Egyptian universities.
  • Develop Standards: Establish benchmarks for assessing the quality of electronic course design and production.
  • Advance Content: Enhance Egyptian educational content in line with the latest e-learning strategies.
  • Foster Partnerships: Collaborate with national, regional, and international institutions to develop e-learning applications and tools.
  • Support Research: Facilitate research in e-learning by providing resources and support to researchers and stakeholders in the field.
  • Integrate E-Learning: Incorporate e-learning into the educational process across all higher education institutions.
  • Diversify Content: Offer various forms of electronic content to university students.
  • Provide Academic Programs: Deliver complete academic programs electronically to support the establishment of colleges and institutes in remote areas.

2. Developing Reusable Digital Educational Resources

Develop repositories for reusable digital educational resources to serve as a foundation for creating courses in any academic discipline.

3. Collaboration with Educational Institutions to Produce Electronic Courses on EGYMOOCs

Collaborate with educational institutions to create electronic courses on the EGYMOOCs platform to serve the local, regional, and international communities, and issue accredited certificates to those who pass the tests.

4. Collaboration with Technical and Scientific Educational Institutions to Produce Professional Electronic Courses

Work with technical and scientific educational institutions to create professional electronic courses aimed at training and qualifying skilled workers, craftsmen, and professionals, and publish them on the Ijada platform.

Technical Support Services:

  • Comprehensive Technical and Pedagogical Support: To develop educational content in all its forms for electronic course production centers at public universities.
  • Increasing Usage Rates: Supporting electronic course production centers in public universities to enhance the usage rates of electronic courses by faculty members and students, which are available for free for teaching and learning processes.
  • Marketing Electronic Courses: Marketing all electronic courses across different sectors for universities and private educational institutions.
  • Statistical Support: Providing statistical data to all master's and doctoral students regarding the use of electronic courses to improve the efficiency of e-learning implementation in Egyptian universities.
  • Marketing Services: Promoting the services of the National Center for E-Learning to educational institutions inside and outside Egypt.

Integrated E-Learning Center Accreditation Services:

  • Evaluation and Development: Assessing and assisting in the development of the technological infrastructure of blended learning centers at Egyptian universities.
  • Development of Digital Tools: Creating digital tools to aid in the design, production, and management of electronic courses.
  • Technical Support: Providing support for producing electronic courses for professional programs in a blended learning format at public Egyptian universities.
  • Quality Certification: Issuing accredited technological quality certificates for electronic courses and professional programs produced in educational institutions.

Training Services:

  • Training Teams: Training teams in educational institutions on producing electronic courses in accordance with educational and technical standards.
  • Faculty Training: Qualifying and training faculty members and their assistants to develop and manage electronic courses independently.

Consulting Services:

  • Technical Consulting: Providing technical consulting to private universities and various educational institutions on the following:
  1. Establishing Support Centers: Setting up technical support and electronic course production centers within educational institutions.
  2. Developing Studios: Creating development studios that meet global standards.
  3. Publishing and Monitoring: Publishing electronic courses on the National Center for E-Learning servers and monitoring their usage.
  4. Faculty Training: Qualifying and training faculty members and their assistants to independently develop and manage electronic courses.
