o Fingerprint: When you place your finger on the fingerprint sensor's
surface, the sensor measures the different distances and patterns
between the lines on the surface of your fingers.

o Auto Light Detector: Basically, the sensor receives all the available light
around you and uses it to calculate the ambient light conditions. This
information is then sent to the screen, which automatically brightens or
dims to suit the surroundings and avoid tiring the user's eyes.

o Proximity Sensor: It is a proximity or distance sensor and its function
automatically locked the screen when the phone approaches the ear
                    during calls.

There are many other sensors integrated inside smartphones according to the model
and the price category of the smartphone, sensor technology and its uses develop
through several applications rapidly within short periods, providing several specialized
sites to view and review smartphone components such as https://www.gsmarena.com
All you have to do is search for your phone version and manufacturer to tell you the
site with all its details and components.
Training Activity 1: (Duration 5 minutes)

           • As a scientific researcher, can you give examples of how you've used your
smartphone to help you with your work and research?

           • Discuss other types of sensors on your smartphone and how well you use
               them?
