Windows, Windows Phone, Macintosh, and Linux. The service also provides APIs for
independent developers. In March 2018, Telegram announced that the number of
active users of the service had reached 200 million people per month.

     Telegram was founded by
     brothers Nikolai and Pavel
     Durov, founders of the
     VKontakte website (the
     largest Russian social
     network). They succeeded
     in launching the Telegram
     program and then
     registered it as an
     independent organization
     based in the German
capital, Berlin. Nikolai designed a special protocol for the application called MTProto,
while Pavel Durov provided basic financial and structural support. For the project,
Telegram performs the same functions as other messaging programs such as:
     WhatsApp Line Viber Tango.
