Strong cybersecurity practices have become increasingly critical as society becomes more reliant on digital
technology. Cyberattacks are no longer limited to high-profile targets like governments and corporations,
and they can impact anyone connected to the internet, including individuals and small businesses. Today’s
cyber threats can undermine the very foundation of society, making it vital that we comprehend the basics
of cybersecurity and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to safeguard ourselves and our communities
against cyber criminals.
The EG|CERT has written this book to guide educators, particularly those who train other educators, to teach
the public, including parents and children, about cybersecurity. This book is a valuable resource for
developing boot camps that teach individuals how to secure their digital lives by providing a comprehensive
overview of cybersecurity concepts and best practices. With this book, educators can help build a more
resilient and secure cyberspace that allows governments and individuals to work together to defend against
cyber threats.
