Introduction

The Central Unit for Information Technology Training - 2026 Edition

It is widely acknowledged that digital transformation has become one of the main
elements that support sustainable development across educational, administrative, and

economic sectors. Over the past decades, the rapid spread of technological advancements
has highlighted the urgent need to build human capabilities equipped with both

         fundamental and advanced digital competencies.

Within this context, the Fundamentals of Digital Transformation Certificate (FDTC) has been

designed as a structured framework that aim to foster an effective digital culture and
enhancing the capabilities of target groups within the Egyptian universities, as well as
members of various national institutions, enabling them to meet the evolving demands of

the digital era. Since its implementation six years ago, the certificate has become an essential
component in the national strategy for promoting digital literacy, raising technological
awareness, and building digital capacities within different academic institutions and

         governmental authorities.

The FDTC is distinguished with the ability to address both the academic and practical

needs of its target groups. This has been clearly proven through the surveys and continuous
feedback received by the Central Unit for Information Technology Training via multiple
channels that is established to gather participants’ insights and suggestions for improving

and developing the training programs required for obtaining the FDTC.

Being Implemented for six years since 2020, it can be concluded that the FDTC has
significantly contributed to building a solid digital knowledge structure among its target
groups within Egyptian universities and the broader community. It has also reinforced the
adoption of modern technological tools in performing everyday tasks, thereby establishing

itself as a key pillar in the development of a knowledge-based society capable of adapting to
         rapid global transformations.

Meeting the needs of target groups in addition to the rapid global expansion of
information technology applications—including data analysis, artificial intelligence,

cybersecurity, digital marketing, and project management in digital environments, the vision
of the Supreme Council of Universities Secretariat has adopted offering significant training
modules for the FDTC modules in its 2026 edition, as indicated below in Table (1).
