engine displays a dialog box asking which student number you want the report

4) Crosstab Queries
Crosstab queries are used to calculate and reconstruct data for easier data
analysis. Crosstab queries calculate the sum, average, count, or other type of
total for the data that is grouped. Two types of information, one appears at the
bottom left side of the data sheet while the other appears at the head of the
page.
5) SQL queries
It is a query that you create using a SQL statement. Getting to know the query
selection window. The query selection window is divided horizontally into two
parts and consists of the following elements:
• Field names: One or more windows appear at the top of the table with the
names of the fields in the table, tables, or queries in the database.
• Query criteria: The bottom part of the table contains grid lines called QBE
(Query By Example). It is used to specify the fields and records to be extracted
from the database.
Advantages of using the query:
1. Display data from more than one table
2. Sorting data
3. Perform calculations
4. Update, delete, and add records in one operation
Basic steps to create a new query:
You can create a select query using
• “Query Wizard”
• “Query Design”.
Some design elements are not available when you use the wizard, but you can
add these elements later using Design View. Although the two methods are
somewhat different, the basic steps are essentially the same:
First, create a query using the Query Wizard
