The shape whose state you want to change appears next to the basic whole as follows:

From the (format) menu we choose (shape fill) and change the color to red as
follows, then we click (done editing states)

To confirm that the states and changing them work correctly, create a preview, which
we will learn about in detail in the next part. The display will be as follows: As the cursor
passes over the shape, its color changes from blue to red, and changing statuses has many
applications in the workspace.
